Weddings
So you've decided to take the plunge! Congratulations!
Whether this is your first marriage, or your tenth (OMG!), Boulder & Tumble Music DJ Service will make it one to remember.

From simple cocktail receptions, to multi-course sit-down affairs, from elegant indoor events to backyard beach luau's, Nothing is too outrageous or low-key. It's YOUR day...make it special for YOU!
All wedding packages include a pre-event consultation if desired. If you are in the
Finger
Lakes region, we can meet at Primadonna Bridals in Canandaigua, or at your home or other location.
Event lighting includes club-style lights and effects that will dazzle your senses. The scale of the lighting and sound equipment will correspond to the room size so you'll never feel overwhelmed or underimpressed.
The type and order of events are chosen by you with the use of a schedule worked out prior to the reception. As with most wedding receptions, schedules become more fluid once everything gets underway. But rest assured, I can easily 'go with the flow'. No one will know you decided to change the order because nature called at the last moment. (Well, I guess now 'everyone' will know!)
I come appropriately attired for the type of event. A simple tuxedo in most cases. In the event of a 'Luau' or an informal warm-weather outdoor event, dress shorts and a golf shirt would be about as 'relaxed' as my wardrobe would get.
That is...unless you're having a blowout beer-blast. In that case, I come prepared in cutoff shorts, flip-flops, and a pressed and starched flannel shirt!
(just kidding!)
...I don't use starch. ;-)

Wedding Reception Tips:
Guest Seating - When and where possible, arrange your guests so that the older adults are seated away from the dance floor. This allows for the best opportunties for 'talk time'. I'll still play a varied selecion of songs for all ages to dance to, at a volume that's acceptable. But since the majority of the songs will be more contemporary, those adults wishing to sit and chat will be in a better position to do so if they're as far away from the speakers as possible. It makes for happy guests all the way around.
Garter/Bouquet Toss - The normal way to do this is to have your new hubby slide off your garter, then he tosses it into a group of guys, then you do he same with your bouquet (or vice-versa), then both 'catchers' replace you and your hubby while the garter is now placed back on the leg of the bouquet receiver. Yawn.
You only need to make one small adjustment to spice it up a little. Line up both the bachelors and the bachelorettes next to each other, with you and your hubby at the other end with your back to the proper group. Now, toss the items at the same time and no one knows who is going to win! This eliminates the scenario where your 7-year old niece catches the bouquet, then no eligible 'bachelor' lines up to catch the garter. A slightly uncomfortable and time-consuming moment (trying to coax more bachelor participation). Naturally, the shape and size of the room may have an affect on this. But, when done right, this leaves more time for regular dancing fun. By the way, in general, it might be a good idea to discourage child participation in this event if the 'catchers' would likely have a wide age difference.
Cutting The Cake - Since you'll be the first to be served dinner, you'll be the first to finish. This would be a great time to cut the cake. Yes, many of your guests may not be done eating. But by cutting the cake now, this allows the staff to slice and dice the cake and, if all goes well, serve it to your guests just as they are finishing their meal. Anyone wishing to take pictures will not have a problem putting their fork down for a few minutes so they can capture the moment on film.
The problem with waiting until after everyone is done eating dinner is that by then, many people have gotten up to begin socializing, moving to the bar, or (perish the thought) just plain leaving. It's a shame to look out over the room and see people dancing and socializing, while the staff places slices of (very) expensive cake in front of empty chairs at abandoned tables.
A cake is a terrible thing to waste!
